Take It In
What does this reveal about who God is?
- Read 1 Samuel 17:12–47. David's victory began long before he threw a stone. As you read this passage, what stands out to you about David's mindset, confidence, and response compared to everyone else around him?
- Read 1 Samuel 17:12–33. The Israelite army and David saw the same giant but interpreted him very differently. What differences do you notice between David's perspective and everyone else's?
- Read 1 Samuel 17:38–40.Why do you think David rejected Saul's armor and chose to fight with what God had already prepared him to use?
Talk About It
How do we practically apply this?
- Have you ever found yourself becoming more familiar with the voice of the giant than the voice of God? What did that look like?
- When you look back on your life, what is one story of God's faithfulness that gives you confidence for what you're facing today?
- What would it look like to speak God's truth over your situation instead of repeating your fears or frustrations?
Take It Home
What are we doing this week?
David's victory wasn't one moment, it was a process. This week, identify one giant you're facing and ask yourself:
- What lie or fear do I need to stop agreeing with?
- What evidence of God's faithfulness can I remember?
- What has God already placed in my hands to use?
- What truth from God's Word can I begin speaking over this situation?
